Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the wrong items list not show the original question?
SmartSAT's core mechanism is AI-generated variants. The original question is never shown, so you can't just memorize it. After you pick a wrong item, the system generates a new question on the same skill at a similar difficulty. A wrong item is cleared when you answer 3 different variants of it correctly.
What does "cleared" mean for a wrong item?
A wrong item is cleared when you answer 3 different variants of it correctly. They don't have to be done in a row or on the same day, and a variant you've already answered correctly stays counted if you miss a later one. Repeating the same variant doesn't count twice.
Can the mock exam be paused?
Yes. This system allows pausing, and the timer pauses with it. The real exam cannot be paused, so we recommend finishing in one sitting to match real exam rhythm.
Why does vocabulary training have 3 quiz types (definition / synonym / antonym)?
The quiz asks the same word three ways (meaning, synonym, antonym). When you start a session, you flip through the words and mark each one "Know" or "Unknown"; that decides how many correct answers in a row a word needs. Marked "Know": 3 in a row. Marked "Unknown": 5 in a row. Words you didn't get to mark: 3 in a row. Your streak carries over between sessions, and a wrong answer only resets the streak; it never takes points away. When you get through a word, its score goes up: a new word you marked "Know" jumps to 60, and every other word gains 20. At 100 the word counts as mastered and stops coming back in training.
How do I restart learning a vocabulary word?
In your vocabulary dictionary, double-click a word to reset its learning progress. It then comes back in your daily training. Words at 100 points no longer appear in training until you reset them.
What data can parents see about me?
Once a parent account is linked to yours, your parent can see your training status, trap profile, score prediction and weekly report, your wrong-item list (exam, skill, status and progress on the 3 variants), the full report for each mock exam, including the answers you gave, plus your vocabulary dictionary and training history. Parents never see the original exam questions.
What data can teachers see about me?
Your teacher can see the training overview, trap profile, wrong-item list, mock-exam answers and vocabulary progress of students in their class, as well as any help requests you send.
I keep getting the same question wrong (5 times in a row). What do I do?
After 5 wrong answers in a row, the item is marked as stuck. Tap "Request human teacher" and your teacher will see your request. You can also tap "AI teacher help" first.
How do I report a problem with a question or the site?
After you log in, use "Report a bug" in the footer of any page. During a mock exam the footer is hidden, so press Ctrl+B (⌘+B on a Mac) on the question screen instead, even in fullscreen. In daily vocabulary training, use the report button on the word. Describe the problem and which question it is. You can see your submitted reports and our replies under "My Reports" in your account.
How accurate is the score prediction?
The prediction is a range, not a single number, and it gets more reliable the more you practice and the more mock exams you take. It's only a reference for pacing your prep. It does not guarantee any real SAT score.
